The miracle of marathons
little Tohru-chan icon
TV wise this week has been awesome. First, on Monday Boomerang was having a Teen Titans marathon, so I spent quite literally all day and most of night watching that. Plus I found out that Boomerang has Teen Titans episodes on every now and then, so I set the DVR to record all of them. I was a bit disappointed that the Raven episodes weren't gotten to, only Birthmark. It's a good episode, but only the beginning of the awesomeness of Raven.

And then today there was an Avatar marathon on!! It was mostly the last book, and the episodes towards the end, with all of Sozin's Comet chapters (which I haven't gotten to watching yet, but I will). Unfortunately the DVR was set up to only record and store up to five episodes at a time, so I had to fix that, but before I did it erased The Beach, which totally sucked. That's one of my favorite episodes, as well as The Headband, even though for some reason when that was on it didn't record.

The week has been quite boring other than that, and break in general. Wasn't much of a break though, because I start summer classes on Monday. I think I'm going to have to take the bus, although I really don't want to. It's close enough I could ride my bike or walk even, although I don't really want to do that either. Although I'd rather walk than take the bus, because the bus scares me. It's full of crazy people. But yeah, just great, starting Monday I get to spend four hours a day for days a week for a month taking classes, including math which I absolutely hate. Yay for me, I get to spend most of my break in math.

Oh dang, I just noticed the time. Family is going to go to a movie tomorrow morning, pretty sure we're going to see the second Night at the Museum. I want to see it, but I also want to see Up. I guess that'll have to wait for another day.

It's been a nice day, and not just the weather
Random icon
Break has been boring thus far, obviously. But today was unusually nice. The weather was the first thing. It was significantly cooler, I don't think it even hit 90 after so many days over 100, and it was cloudy and windy. My grandma was taking my baby cousin to some story time thing at the library, so I went with them and then looked around for some books. I ended up getting 5- Memoirs of a Geisha, Great Expectations, The Inferno, For Whom the Bell Tools and a collection of short stories by Poe. Right now I'm reading Memoirs and got to chapter 4. It's actually pretty interesting. But since I ended up having time to spare I went into the teen section to see if they had any good books. Nothing I wanted to read, but I did find the January issue of Shojo Beat, so I looked through it a bit, read a few pages of each of the manga chapters in it (mostly the VK chapter) and then put it back. Then I also found an issue of Shonen Jump and read the One Piece chapter and a bit of the Yu-Gi-Oh GX chapter. Then they were finally done and we got a drink at Sonic and went home, even though I said it was nice out and we should go to the park, since the nice park was right next to the library. We ended up going like an hour later because some lady and her daughter who my grandma met at the park by the house and my cousin liked to play with were there, so we drove back. They watched them play and I just sat and read and enjoyed the very nice weather. And then we eventually left a couple hours later. My brother was a complete jerk to his dog like he always is because she chewed up some of his cases for his Wii games. And then much later, like an hour or so ago, because my brother told me that my dad thought the last kitten we caught, which I named Yuuki, was dead because we never saw her come out from under the bed. So to prove her wrong my grandma, my cousin and I went over there, since nobody was home, and got her out. She's not dead, but I'm wondering what the deal is. I haven't seen her eat, so I had my cousin hold her while I went and got some food and put her in the bathroom with it, along with the other kittens that came out. Went in five minutes later to look and she was hiding behind the toilet, so I'm not sure if she's eaten anything since she's been inside. She's not thin a all though. So o prove she wasn't dead we took my dad's phone, which he left there to charge, took a picture of her and put it as his wallpaper.

I got into to get my eyes examined yesterday. Had to go to Nationwide because that's the only place the stupid insurance covers. I was so angry about that. I liked my other optometrist, he was nice. The one at Nationwide wasn't mean or anything, I just liked my other one a lot better. I'm going to be VERY PISSED if I have to go to a new dentist, because I have had some really crappy and mean dentists, and I don't mind the current one at all. But my mom's insurance covers dental, and my dad's is eye, so I should be alright there. My prescription went up yet again. I swear I'm going blind or something. They gave me a trial pair of contacts until the order comes in, and they also have my glasses so I can get the correct prescription lenses while keeping the frames.

I love DirectTV
Mwuahaha icon
I really do love it. Before I didn't have any cable installed in my room. But since Qwest was going out of business or being bought out or something like that they switched to Direct TV. And I love it. I also love how my grandparents were kind enough to give me the one of the two DVR's that come with it. And that my grandma, before I even came home, set it to record all episodes of ATLA that come on. And yes, since Nicktoons is one of the channels they get, it's on all the time it seems. So I've been watching old episodes of it because it's been awhile since I've seen pretty much all of them. And I also set it to record episodes of FMA that come on, even though I have them all on DVD.

Today was blah-ish. I was woken up because the one kitten that is still outside came around the house again, and so this time there were four of us trying to catch it. However, by time I got over there it was gone. We have the other three kittens inside and their mother also stays in most of the time. We feed them and give them somewhere safe to stay, and eventually when they're old enough we're going to try to find them a good home. If not we'll at least get them fixed and put them back outside and still feed them like we do so many other cats. And I went to Costco with my parents, and got some stuff there to eat. And other than that the day was quite blah.

Episode 7 of FMA: B came out today. It was alright, although the area it's in right now isn't too exciting. Just them getting back to Central, the first branch being burned down, figuring out the main ingredient in the Philosopher's Stone, then going to the fifth lab. Next week is the fight at the fifth lab, and the way that Barry the Chopper is drawn looked very interesting from the shadowy part of him in this episode. Just thinking about him makes me want the part where he runs into Hawkeye and develops a crush to come, because it's funny.

As of 3:06 today, Thursday, May 14 2008, I have officially finished my first year of college!! I don't know what I'm more happy about, the fact that I don't have any more classes and can go home for the summer, or the fact that I actually managed to complete something that so many people can't. It wasn't an easy week. I was so bored Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, even with studying. And then today, it all began. Or ended. The beginning of the end. Or was it the end of the beginning? Ohhhh.

But yeah, I got up before seven today quite easily. I've never been able to do that, even when I had to for four years in high school, but I think the obnoxiously bright sunlight streaming into the room this morning might have done it. And then I had to walk to my calculus final, because I no longer have my bike here. I haven't been outside it three days, it was hot. And I took the final. I did as much as I could, although I KNEW I should have studied more the graphing by calculus. There was a question on that with multiple parts, I had to leave it blank. I couldn't remember at all how to do it. I don't have high hopes for that grade.

Then biology. I should have studied more of the first professor's stuff, except it was so incredible boring and random it was difficult. His was the first section of the final. It took me a bit more time than I expected. But the parts by the other two professors I went through fairly quickly, let's hope I did well. I'm doubting I did, but if I get a 95% on it then I can get an A for the class. That would be great, especially considering I got a C last semester, and that was with a curve.

I should take a shower soon, so I can be done with the shower. Then I'll eat my dinner early, hope most of the water I put in the freezer part of the fridge is frozen and then begin to defrost my fridge in the shower overnight. And then I finish packing pretty much everything tonight, put the rest(my bed stuff, clock, etc.) in boxes tomorrow, pack it all in the car when my mom gets here, and then tomorrow I am out of here!!!! And hopefully we'll get home fast because I really want to see my kitty, and the kittens.

I can't think of much else to write. Either way I need to go take a shower before Jeopardy comes on. It's day one of the college finals. I wish I had tried out, I bet I could have at least gotten into the semi-finals.

Only a few more days
Calm/mellow icon
I don't know how much more I can take. Technically I've gotten through two days now, only one more until I have my last finals, and by this time on Friday I'll be home. I actually need to start studying, and I will. Eventually. I kind of got distracted yesterday, since I spent all day watching Lucky Star, and finished it today. It was a good anime, and I think it was a good choice. There really was no plot whatsoever to it, since it's slice of life, but after watching Air a random comedy was good. Konata=hilarious. She acts like a perverted old man, although that would be because that's exactly what her dad is. Air was sad though, I teared up quite a bit towards the end. If you don't want to watch all of it (although it's only thirteen episodes, so if you don't you're just lazy) then just watch episode thirteen. For some reason they end it at episode twelve and then the last episode was just a recap of the entire series.

Mother's day...coincidentally my mother was here for that. I can't say she had the best, she probably didn't. It started off with us going to IHOP, because I suggested it before we came down because I wanted the strawberry crepes and she did too. I ended up not getting the crepes, because she said one probably wouldn't have been enough for me. So I got chocolate chip pancakes, which weren't bad but not what I wanted. She got crepes. And we left there and by that time my aunt was here so we began to finish packing most of my stuff and taking it down to the car/truck. Then we went to Silver Mine, and oh how nice that was. We couldn't find anywhere to park, with the exception of one parking stop, and since my aunt's truck had my bike and a bunch of boxes of my stuff in the back we let her take it, and then managed to find a place after driving around the parking lot twice. Well we ate, that was all good. But then I remembered we had packed my FMA DVD set in a box in the back and some of my CD's, so we had to go through the boxes to find it. Well at that very time one of the delivery guys comes and tells my mom she has to move the truck because it's parked in a spot for delivery drivers. She tells him it's not her truck and he continues to give her shit. So then she yells at him, calls him and asshole and such, which she had all the right to do. And after she went to get my aunt from inside the idiot just drove over to another spot, one which was actually marked for delivery drivers. And then they left, and I was left with a near empty room. I have two boxes for packing my last bit of stuff, my clothes and suitcase, laptop, printer(even though I said I didn't need it), TV, alarm clock, some food, some drawers and my FMA wall scroll. Oh, and most of my textbooks. Go figure though when my mom was packing the books she left my chemistry book but took my biology book. That would be helpful if I hadn't already taken my chem final and didn't have my bio final in two days. I should be perfectly fine just going off the notes, I never looked at the book this semester anyway.

FMA stuff took forever to come out this week. The new episode of FMA: B and the new manga chapter should have come out the same day. Well, the new episode came out but it took quite some time for the subs to come out. This episode felt a bit rushed, although maybe it was just the day. The last few episodes have been really good. And then the manga chapter wasn't scanlated until Monday afternoon, so when that happened I read it super fast. It was AWESOME!! I don't who was more awesome, Olivier or...no, it was Olivier. She's always the most awesome. But Izumi was also awesome in this chapter, even though she showed up at the end. And Armstrong finally stopped acting so weak, and I believe he finally lived up to the Armstrong name. Of course, he'll never be as awesome as Olivier, but he did pretty well. And then Envy...I'm not really sure what to say about him this chapter. He lived up to his name, yet in the end did something that I never would have expected. And the little Royai moment was great too.

I should probably go do something productive...

Whoa, whoa...whoa. What?

Alright, I'm confused. I just looked to see if my grade for my last bio test was posted yet, since I hadn't checked yet and it's been a week. I got in 84 on it. AN 84?!?!? How is that possible? That's higher than both my other two test grades. I didn't do any studying. I looked over my notes for like an hour before I had to get going to class. I don't remember anything he said in class. Yet I still got a B. I guess it was more I didn't consciously remember anything then, because apparently the knowledge stuck in my head somehow. I thought I was guessing on most of the answers too. So my B in biology is safe for now. And since I have three weekdays between that final and my one before it I should be able to keep my B. That would be so awesome.

I don't think I have much more to say other than that. Have to study for my chem final tomorrow. Yay for dead day, kind of. It's going to be hard, it's a national test all general chemistry students take, and the national average is around 50%.

All that is left are finals
Looking forward icon
As of now, actually as of a couple hours ago, I have pretty much finished my first year of college. With the completion of my chem test I have nothing but finals left. And the chem test was a lot easier than I actually thought it was going to be. I got through the multiple choice and the first three long answers pretty quickly. And today in class this lady who is some type of teacher who sits in on the class brought tons of cookies for the class, which was cool. I took one at the very end, and I should have taken more. I don't know if it was just because I haven't had a cookie in awhile, but it was really good. And then biology I kind of just blanked out, he was talking about climate or something like that. And then I stayed for the last part, even though he said it wasn't going to be on the test. I just completely blanked out, I was randomly playing songs through my head. All I remember from that second half was something about clouds. It's a good thing I did stay, and I think it's the reason most people stayed until the very end. Since we hadn't had a little bonus quiz for this third of the semester he decided to have it the last five minutes of class. I'm pretty sure I had the answer right, truth be I was still in zone out mode and wasn't sure if I heard the question right. And then to start off the day, which I guess I should have put before everything else, I got my math test back. It wasn't as well as I wanted. Like it ever would be. However, the score was higher than other scores I've gotten. I was smart to try and work all of them out, I got a couple points on pretty much all of them just for having the first couple steps right, or for showing that I knew the formula.

My first final is tomorrow, mythology. Should be easy, but just to make sure I get an A I'm going to study a bit more than usual. I also need to finish my chem homework that's due tomorrow online. But for now I'm going to watch some more OHSHC. I guess I'll get to episode 20 tonight, maybe 21 or 22, and then finish it off on Thursday. I guess getting in a series quick isn't too bad, although it probably would have made more sense to watch Air instead, since I think it's like half the length. Oh well, that'll be after school is out.

I had an unusually healthy dinner, although I guess none of what I've been having lately has been too bad. But I had brown rice, and then when I got back from the test I tried some of the microwaveable carrot cups I got, but ended up throwing them away. I probably forgot at the time I bought them that I don't like what most people would consider cooked carrots. I prefer them just slightly cooked, at the point where they still have that bit of crunch in them(I hate cookies veggies, I much prefer them raw). These were just complete mush when I put them in my mouth. Then I had a fruit cup for dessert. And a fortune cookie. I was going to get ice cream but I was too lazy to walk over to Cold Stone. I think tomorrow I will, and I'll also try to get some real food, something with meat. I can't remember the last time I had meat. I'm not a big meat eater at all, but I really need some.
